One of the most popular installer creation tools is Unibeast. Not any more. Instead, click here for High Sierra. To download macOS Mojave, click here. Wait for it to finish. Go to tonymacx If the USB drive currently has more than one partition, click on the Partition tab and use the minus sign to reduce it to one partition occupying the fully capacity of the drive.
If not, click the Erase tab, change it and press Erase. Launch Unibeast and, in the first window, select the USB drive you just formatted as the destination for the installer. Click Continue and step through the pages of the app until you come to the one that asks you to choose the OS you want to install.
Click on Mojave or High Sierra, depending on which you want to install. In most cases, you should choose UEFI. If yours does, choose Legacy. If yours does, choose the option which best describes your graphics card. In the meantime, you can get your PC ready by unplugging all USB devices and removing any internal hard drives other than the one on which you want to install macOS.
There are a few programs you’ll need during this process so start by downloading them. Here are links for what you will need followed by the download instructions. To get into Disk Utility, just click the magnifying glass and type “Disk Utility. Name the drive “MyVolume”. Then click the “Erase” button. If you are installing a different version of macOS, you can find the command for the version you are installing here.
You’ll have to wait a bit for this to install. To open the program, you will have to right-click the icon, select “open”, then select “open” again. This is a software wizard that helps us easily prepare what we need to install MacOS on our particular hardware setup. It will go out and get everything we need except the SSDTs and put them in a folder for you. You can also do this is a more manual method by following the OpenCore Install Guide.
But this program simplifies things for us quite a bit and it is not available for Windows. On this first screen under “System Type” choose the type of processor you have. Look in your processor’s documentation to determine the name of the microarchitecture it uses. Getting this right is very important. Under “Ethernet” select “IntelMausi”. These are very commonly used options but there is a small chance your settings will be different depending on your hardware and specific use case.
For my setup I used “iMac19,1” but it could be different for you if you are using a different processor of a different operating system version. Select the section on the left side for your processor type in my case it is “Coffee Lake”. Then find the heading “PlatformInfo”. An EFI folder has now been created on your desktop. We will now make some modifications to the contents. You can find the list of the exact SSDT’s you need at this link. Just select your processor type and download each of the required SSDTs.
Once all of those files are downloaded, move them into your EFI folder. Select your USB drive. In the screenshot below, it is option 2. Open ProperTree. Like before you can open it by right-clicking and selecting “open”. The first thing we need to do is to inject all of the files in the EFI folder into the “config. So go to “File”, then select “OC Snapshot”. Make sure you’re on the EFI partition.
And click the “Choose” button. The OC Gen-X program helped simplify all the required setup. At this point you should verify that everything is setup correctly according the the official install guide. Here is the guide for Coffee Lake. If you are using a different type of processor, just select your type in the left menu.
You can verify the quirks are set correctly in the config. They should all be correct. You need to do additional setup in the config. Find the “DeviceProperties” section, and then copy the following characters to add. Note that this if you processor is not Coffee Lake, the exact thing you need to add under “DeviceProperties” could be different. Search for “Device Properties” in the OpenCore guide for your processor type to confirm what to add under “DeviceProperties” in the config.
Under “DeviceProperties”, click on “Add”. Double-click where it says “New String” and just paste the text into the field and hit enter. Then select in the next column where it says “String” and make sure that it is set to “Dictionary”.
Now we’ll change the language to English. So next to where it says “prev-lang:kbd”, change “data” to “String” and set the value to “en-US:0” and hit enter.
If you want a different language just go to this link to find what language code to use. The config. So go to “file”, then “save”. You are now completely done setting up the bootable drive. So just eject the drive, and then you can plug it in to your Hackintosh.
Make sure to download the zip file for the most recent release. Next copy the folder path for the macrecovery folder:. Now in the Command Prompt, run one of the following commands depending on what version of macOS you want. If you don’t already have Python, you will have to install it first. This will take some time, however once you’re finished you should get either BaseSystem or RecoveryImage files:. Follow these steps from the OpenCore Docs :. Next, go to the root of this USB drive and create a folder called com.
Then move the downloaded BaseSystem or RecoveryImage files. Please ensure you copy over both the. Once done it should look like this:. At this point you will have to continue setting up your EFI folder. Because of the complexity of this step and all the different possible options depending on your setup, you should follow along with the official documentation for the next few steps.
Here are the links to the instructions for the next steps when using Windows to create the bootable USB installer. Note that the screenshots in the documentation show a mac but the steps apply to Windows as well. For setup using a mac, you don’t have to go through these steps because there is a wizard that does all of them automatically.

Save your settings and exit the BIOS. Look for the key you’re supposed to press to save and exit in the legend on the right side of the page, then press it. Doing so will shift your Windows computer’s boot priority so that installation USB drive will be selected as the boot point once you plug it in.
You may have to press another key to confirm this choice. Part 7. Place Multibeast on the USB drive. Open the USB drive’s folder, then drag the Multibeast file into the folder. You’ll need to use Multibeast later, so having it on the flash drive will make using it when necessary as simple as possible. After doing so, you can remove your USB drive. You should make sure that the Unibeast installation is complete before doing this. Shut down your Windows computer. Press and hold the Power button on your Windows computer until your computer shuts down completely.
This will usually occur one or two seconds after the computer’s display turns off. Plug both the Unibeast USB drive and the blank hard drive into your computer. These should both fit into USB ports on your computer. Start your Windows computer. Press the Power button to start the computer. Once the computer has a chance to begin booting, it should select your plugged-in USB drive as a place from which to boot.
This will begin the macOS installation process. Doing so takes you to the next page of the installer. Click Continue twice. It’s in the bottom-right corner of the pages. You’ll see this at the top of the screen. Click the Utilities menu item. This menu item is in the top-left side of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear. It’s in the drop-down menu. Select the blank hard drive. Click the blank hard drive’s name on the left side of the page. It’s near the top of the page. Format the blank hard drive.
Doing so will reformat your blank hard drive for macOS’ file system. Click Done when prompted, then close the Disk Utility window. You can now proceed with installing macOS High Sierra on the hard drive. Click the blank hard drive’s name, then click Continue. This will both select the hard drive as the installation point and begin installing macOS High Sierra. Wait for macOS High Sierra to finish installing.
This process should take around 15 minutes. Follow the on-screen prompts. You’ll be prompted to enter specific information, such as your name, a password, your preferred language, your location, and so on. Once you complete this setup process, macOS’ software will be completely set up on your Windows computer.
Part 8. Open your flash drive. Double-click the Multibeast file. Doing so will open the Multibeast window. Click the Bootloaders tab. Select the proper bootloader. Click the Drivers tab. You’ll find this option at the top of the window. Click Audio. It’s on the left side of the window. Select audio drivers. Click the current audio item’s heading in the middle of the window to expand it, then check the box next to your computer’s audio provider’s name.
Click Misc. This option is on the left side of the window. Check the “FakeSMC” box. You’ll find it near the top of the window.
Click Network. Select an Internet driver. Click the name of your Internet card, then check the box next to the driver’s name. Click the Customize tab. Select the proper graphics options. Check the box next to your computer’s graphics card name, then check the “Fixup” box for your graphics card’s manufacturer. Leave the “Inject” options blank. Click System Definitions. Select a Mac which most closely resembles your computer. Click the heading of the type of Mac e. At this point you can restart the computer and take out the USB drive.

The Hardware Many computer parts work for Hackintoshes. Open up the App store on macOS. Search for “Big Sur”. Click “Get”, and then “Download”. Once Disk Utility is open, make sure that the view is set to show all devices. Click the USB drive, then click “Erase” in the top menu. The type of processor I used is “Coffee Lake”. For most of the tabs in this program you can keep the default settings.
You’ll need to get the SSDT files. This is different depending on your processor. Right-click on MountEFI. A dialog box could pop up here about what version to use. If this happens, click “Yes”. Next, we need to add more children under it and it should eventually look like this: Below is the text from the image above that you need to add if you system is Cofee Lake.
Mojave You should see all of your partitions and disks. On the bottom half, you’ll see your devices. Find your USB. Right click the unallocated space and create a new simple volume. Make sure it is FAT32 and at least a gigabyte or two big. Name it “EFI”. Most setting can be left as the default.
The next few screenshots are a little blurry since I was videotaping my monitor and did not focus correctly. If you have problems with these settings, you can load and alter them later to fine tune things.
Click Install. Enter your password if prompted, and click Install Helper. When you see this screen, you can restart your Hackintosh. If it runs as expected, you’re done. Otherwise you’ll need to run MultiBeast again and make sure you have selected all the right drivers and settings for your individual PC hardware.
Building a Hackintosh is a multi-step process that isn’t exceptionally difficult, but it is time-consuming, and it’s also very precise. While you can technically build a Hackintosh without any specialized knowledge or experience, having a background in PC building and some knowledge of macOS helps. This is the hardware and software you need before you can build a Hackintosh:. There are a lot of reasons to make a Hackintosh instead of just buying a Mac, but the primary factor is cost.
You can build a Hackintosh with more powerful specifications than any Mac for less money. If you prefer macOS over other operating systems, but you want to save some money by putting together your own system, then building a Hackintosh is an attractive option.
The downside is that Apple doesn’t support this procedure, and they have even actively discouraged it. If you’re willing to risk it, then you stand to save some money and have a much greater level of control over your hardware choices than you would with an off the rack Mac.

This is the gigabyte minimum flash drive that you’ll use to install macOS High Sierra on your computer.
Type disk utility into Spotlight. This will search your Mac for the Disk Utility app. Click Disk Utility. It’s below the Spotlight search bar. Doing so will open Disk Utility. Select your USB drive. Click the USB drive’s name in the upper-left side of the window. Click the Erase tab.
It’s near the top of the window. A pop-up box will appear. Click the “Format” drop-down box. You’ll find this in the middle of the pop-up box.
Clicking it prompts a drop-down menu. This will set your USB drive’s file system to that of your Mac. Click the “Scheme” drop-down box. It’s below the “Format” drop-down box. This option is in the “Format” drop-down menu. Click Erase.
Doing so will reformat your USB drive to your Mac’s file system. Click Done when prompted. You can now proceed with creating your installation drive. Part 5. Open the Unibeast folder. Double-click the Unibeast folder to unzip and open it. Click Open when prompted. Doing so will open the Unibeast setup window. If your Mac is currently running macOS Sierra or higher, you’ll have to verify the Unibeast installation before continuing.
Click Continue four times. It’s in the bottom-right corner of the first four pages of the Unibeast setup window. Click Agree when prompted. It’s at the top of the window. Select your USB drive, then click Continue. Click the USB drive’s name to select it. Select High Sierra , then click Continue. You should see High Sierra in the middle of the page. Select a motherboard type. Select a graphics card option if necessary, then click Continue.
Check the box next to Inject [card name] for your preferred graphics card settings. If your graphics card supports macOS High Sierra by default, skip this step. Click Continue. It’s in the bottom-right corner of the page.
Doing so will prompt you to enter your Mac’s password. Enter your Mac’s password. Type in the password you use to log into your Mac. Click OK. This will prompt Unibeast to begin installing to the USB drive. While the Unibeast installation finishes up, you should change your Windows computer’s boot order. Part 6. Unplug any USB items from your Windows computer. Make sure that you don’t have any USB drives, in particular.
This process varies from computer to computer, but you will typically restart your computer and then repeatedly press a key e. Locate the “Boot Order” section. This section is normally on the main page of the BIOS, though you may need to use the arrow keys to navigate over to the “Boot” or “Advanced” tab.
Select Removable Devices. Use the arrow keys to move the blinking bar down to Removable Devices. On some pages, this section may instead be called USB Devices or something similar e.
Move your selected location to the top of the list. You can double-check the key that you’re supposed to use in the legend that’s usually on the right side or the bottom of the BIOS page. Save your settings and exit the BIOS.
